Christian moms come in all shapes, sizes, and beliefs! But no matter what type of Christian mom you are, you know the responsibility you have, and that books for Christian moms can remind you of!

Day-to-day life is not easy as a mom. In fact, I truly believe that motherhood is the hardest job in the world! It pushes you to limits of sacrifice, patience, and love that you never knew were possible.

To raise our children to love and follow Jesus is truly a remarkable and good calling, but it’s not an easy one. Daily encouragement is not something I just want – I need it!

I love these books for Christian moms because they help me align my focus back on what truly matters when I become discouraged. I am constantly preaching the gospel to myself as a mom because the Bible and these books remind me to do so.

  1. The Excellent Wife: A Biblical Perspective by Martha Peace

While this is an older book, it has timeless information, specifically on biblical evidence of what a wife is and her roles in the family unit!

As Christian moms, we have to constantly remind ourselves that our husband comes before our children. If our relationship with our spouse is not put first, the whole house will crumble.

Even though our children demand so much from us emotionally, physically, and spiritually, our husband needs a wife that is rooted in biblical truth first.

This is a wonderful book to read to stay grounded in the truth of God’s word as a wife and a mom.

This world does not need more mediocre moms. It needs mothers that are willing to stand for truth and put in the hard work to make that truth known, especially to our families.

  1. Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday: Say Goodbye to Stressed, Tired, and Anxious, and Say Hello to Renewed Joy in Motherhood by Valerie Woerner

By the author’s definition, I am often a grumpy mom. After a long hard day on the homestead, I just want to relax. Instead, I see a pile of dishes that still need to be washed, a pile of laundry to fold, and crumbs on the floor.

In those moments I often turn to bitterness instead of my Savior. This book challenges me in a lot of ways as a Christian mom on how to practically respond in different situations. Each chapter has action steps, a key verse, and a prayer.

It is one of the books for Christian moms that keeps its perspective very realistic!

  1. Why Motherhood Matters: An Invitation to Purposeful Parenting by September McCarthy

As Christian moms, we have an amazing purpose behind what we do – raising children for the kingdom of Christ!

I love this book because the author is constantly using biblical truth and bible verses to remind us of who we are and our purpose as Christian moms. One quote I particularly loved was “When we barely recognize who we have become, this is the perfect time to let God transform us.

When we feel weak in motherhood, we have to allow God to strengthen us and work through us. We are the tool he is using to change the world and build His kingdom.

My sister-in-law gifted me this book when I was pregnant with my first child. I am so glad she did because I had no idea the demand motherhood would have on me, right from the beginning!

Motherhood changes us. God transforms us through the sacrifice it demands each and every day. Suddenly we no longer get to do exactly what we want. Other’s needs constantly come before our own and it’s a constant battle to fight the devil with the thoughts he invokes in our heads.
