Beginning in high school through most of my college years I was single. And after my first relationship in college ended, I found myself single again as I entered the workforce.
I remember going on social media or even walking around town and seeing romantic relationships all around me. It felt extremely lonely most of the time. I longed to be a wife and mother one day, but it was so hard not knowing when that day would be!
At times I would remember the advantages to my singleness – I could essentially do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. It was fun living life with so much freedom.
But, deep down I always had the longing to meet my future husband. I knew he was out there, or at least I greatly hoped he was, and I just had to be patient and trust God’s will and His timing.

This book will always be at the top of my list! I have read it multiple times and when I was single, I would always pull it off my bookshelf when I needed some encouragement.
In When God Writes Your Love Story, Eric and Leslie help you see the purpose in your singleness by pointing you back to God. They continually remind you that your love story is in fact, not yours.

Kristen Clark and Bethany Beal are two sisters that started their own ministry called Girl Defined. Girl Defined is also the name of the first book they wrote. Love Defined followed and then Sex, Purity, and the Longings of a Girl’s Heart.
I had stumbled upon this ministry when one of their videos popped up in the suggestions area on YouTube. I love that they have a mission to help point young women closer to the Lord.
This book is perfect for any single girl because we all have longings, just as the title of the book says! When we are single, it’s often very difficult to avoid sexual temptation. We also have questions about how God defines sexuality as we prepare for marriage, and so much more.
Kristen and Bethany compiled all these questions and more into one book. This is a book that will help answer your questions when you are single regarding sex and intimacy as God defined it, not as culture tries to define it.

This book gives you a look at the life of the author Keion Henderson and the ways we can survive the seasons in between with the courage that comes only when you’re sure of God’s purpose for your life.
