Biblical parenting is not just about teaching right from wrong or putting rules in place. These biblical Christian parenting books have shown me that discipline also means compassion, patience, tenderness, comfort, and encouragement!
Parenting isn’t easy, but doing it from a Biblical Christian perspective is essential. With the Bible as our guide and the Lord helping us on our journey, we can parent well and diligently!
Our greatest mission on earth as parents is to raise godly children that love the Lord and come to know Him as their own Lord and Savior! It is our responsibility to discipline our children according to the Bible so that we ultimately point them back to Jesus.
If you feel lost or just don’t know where to start in your Christian parenting, these biblical Christian parenting books are the best ones to read! They will give you the foundation for your parenting and advice on what to do in various situations.

Luke 6:45 (NIV) says, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
This book is all about helping your children have a heart filled with goodness for the Lord! Your child’s behavior (and your own) is the outflowing of what is inside your heart. In order to change our child’s behavior, we have to change their heart.
As Biblical Christian parents we have to teach our children that their heart is full of sin and they have a natural sin nature. Their sin nature leads to selfish actions and bad behaviors. Correcting their behavior is not simply saying it’s wrong to do this or that but teaching them why their sin pulls them farther from God.
We are not just correcting their bad behavior but the condition that causes it.
Training your child’s heart will ultimately cause you to parent differently! This is a must-read out of all the Biblical Christian parenting books.

You don’t need the latest parenting strategy to parent well, you simply need solid Biblical gospel principles. But, the author doesn’t simply give you quick and easy principles to follow. He also lays out the greater picture of our parenting and the grace God gives us for the journey.
The gospel principles are calling, grace, law, inability, identity, process, lost, authority, foolishness, character, false gods, control, rest, and mercy. Ultimately our children belong to the Lord, but these principles help us become better ambassadors of the calling our King has given us.
I love that the author also talks about taking ownership of our parenting. If we want to be successful in our parenting, we have to be all in. All in for Christ, and all in for parenting our children well. There is nothing else worth pursuing than training our children biblically.

This book still contains practical wisdom all the way from when it was previously published in 1860! John Charles Ryle was an Anglican Bishop that lived before the 1900s.
The book is a quick read because it is short, concise, and straightforward. It focuses on parenting based on Biblical principles and not on our emotions or the current trends of the culture. It is an encouraging book for parents to turn back to throughout the various stages of their parenting journey!
This is one of the Biblical Christian parenting books that are highly recommended by so many. It has certainly stood the test of time!

I love having this pamphlet on hand by Ginger Hubbard because it reminds me that I need to point my child back to Christ when I am disciplining them. We have to give our children the why behind their actions, not just simply a “no, that’s wrong”!
This book, while more specifically geared towards motherhood, is practical principles on how to apply the Bible to the daily training in obedience of our children. The author provides us with a Biblical view of discipline and what that practically looks like.
It’s not just punishing bad behavior and telling them their sin, it is taking the time to then teach them what the correct behavior is and why the Bible tells them to do it. You can change your heart and your child’s heart by applying these wonderful principles from the Bible!

The Bible gives us the answer on how to parent, and this pastor helps us see those answers clearly. I love that this book specifically talks about the father’s role and the mother’s role, and how we can honor the Lord within the family.
Children are called to obey their parents, but we as parents have a higher calling of nurturing that obedience and pointing them to Christ. This book is one of the Biblical Christian parenting books that can be referenced for years and years.

Training your child is not something we can outsource to pastors, grandparents, or even television programs. Training our children begins in the home and as parents, it is our duty to raise them to know and follow Jesus.
The authors of this book give wonderful guidance on how that training begins in the home. And how at home, is where our children will experience the love of Christ based on our actions.
The pressure of the responsibility that is on our shoulders as parents can feel overwhelming but if we find our complete rest and fulfillment in Christ, He is the one that will ultimately nurture our children. We need to center our own hearts on Christ first before we try to parent.
