As a stay-at-home mom, I am learning new strategies and techniques all the time on how to keep my house clean. But these books on how to keep your house clean aren’t just for stay-at-home moms like me! They are for everyone.

Some days it seems the only way to keep everything clean is to just clean all day long, which just isn’t realistic or fun! With my husband working from home, a couple of toddlers underfoot, and living on a homestead, things get dirty quickly. And no wonder, we are at home all the time!

Growing up I knew the basics of cleaning a house, but I was never taught strategies or systems to implement around it. It wasn’t until recently that I stumbled across a few books on how to keep your house clean.

These books showed me that you can have systems in place in your home to make cleaning manageable and always stay on top of it! I’m so glad that I can implement these and stop playing catch-up each day on all my cleaning duties.

Let’s check them out…

This is one of the books on how to keep your house clean that is very detailed and simple. The author accomplishes this by providing a 7-Day Simply Clean Kickstart and 28-Day Simply Clean Challenge.

These are programs you can implement into your own home immediately. She tells you what to clean and when, and before you know it, it’s a habit! You are on your way to keeping your house clean daily and not feeling overwhelmed at the end of the month.

The focus on forming habits really sets this book apart. I also love the natural cleaning recipes she shares and the easy printables to keep you on track.

  1. Clean Mama’s Guide to a Peaceful Home: Effortless Systems and Joyful Rituals for a Calm, Cozy Home by Becky Rapinchuk

This book is by the same author as the first book and is another great book to help you on your cleaning journey! I also have to share the twin book to this one called, Clean Mama’s Guide to a Healthy Home: The Simple, Room-by-Room Plan for a Natural Home by Becky Rapinchuk.

Out of all the books on how to keep your house clean, this one is unique. It is more of a workbook format, where it is as if the author is sitting across the table from you asking you some tough questions to break down your barriers when it comes to cleaning.

There is space to write your response and then all the tips on how to make it better. For example, the author will ask you to write down your morning routine, then deconstruct it down to what could be better, and then offer helpful tips and advice on how changing it up could change improve your life.

If you need someone to hold your hand, almost quite literally, this is the book for you!

  1. Natural Cleaning: DIY Solutions for the Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Office, and More by Pam Farley

I first encountered natural cleaning for myself right after college. It was through essential oils and I started purchasing Young Living products regularly.

But, when I found out I could make all these products myself and save tons of money, everything changed! I started to make my own toothpaste, shampoo, laundry soap, cleaners, and more. Recently I’ve come across this book, Little House Living by Merissa A. Alink, and have been making even more things from scratch at home.

Eliminating chemicals and toxins out of your life, saving a great deal of money, and empowering yourself to not rely on anyone else for your basic needs are fantastic reasons to start making your own household products!

This book is a wonderful guide to have on hand to make anything as time arises. It is one of the books on how to keep your house clean that has a recipe for literally everything. From carpet to stain removers, this book covers it all!
