After living in our tiny house for a few years, my husband and I have decided to build our own house, a cabin in our woods! It has made me interested in books on how to style a cabin.
I’m not naturally a person that is great at home design or style in general, so I love to find inspiration wherever I can. I picked up as many cabin-style type books as I could to see what different things people were doing for their designs!
While these books could be simply coffee-table books and décor on their own, I love that I can glean inspiration from each of them. These books on how to style a cabin have helped me realize some key design aspects of cabin life.
And I’ll go into all those details as we check out each of the books below! If you’re designing your own cabin, consider checking out these books first to get a vision of what you want your cabin to feel and look like when it’s complete.

This is one of the books on how to style a cabin that I recommend you start out with! It is perfect as a beginner’s book because it slowly walks you through several beautiful images with the emotion behind them.
For example, the book really makes you feel what a cabin should do to your soul. It should feel relaxing, welcoming, timeless, comfortable, simple, and rustic. And as the author walks you through various rooms of the cabin you start to understand how to invoke and achieve those feelings.
I also love that this book has several DIY projects included. I was looking at a pinecone lamp on one of the pages and thought to myself I’d love something like that in my cabin house. Then, a few pages later it shows you exactly how to make one for yourself, how cool!
The DIYs are all practical and help establish that cabin vibe you are going for!

This book has beautiful images of log cabins and rustic cabin homes. I loved seeing how different people incorporate things like taxidermy, wool blankets, unique rugs, and especially fireplace mantels!
This book also includes a few catalog pages at the end. I enjoyed these not because I would purchase exactly from them, but because they gave me more inspiration on the little things to fill our cabin with. For example, a birch-themed picture frame or an antler-shaped lamp.
All of those little things are just as important to think about. We certainly don’t want them to clash with the overall theme of the cabin!

This is a large book with bright big photographs. I appreciated the variation of homes showcased in this book as some were much more modern than others.
My favorites to look at were the ones that looked old-school and rustic but still had modern appliances or other items. These all flowed so well together, and nothing looked out of place!
You really get a bit of everything in this book from Native American Heritage to painted white walls! I certainly think you can nail down your cabin style by flipping through this book a couple of times and seeing what you like.

Another book by the author previously listed, this book is all about showcasing how you can bring modern design to classic old cabins and make them beautiful!
This book isn’t exactly the design my husband and I are going for as I feel it doesn’t invoke the coziness and welcoming environment as well. However, if you want a cabin where you feel luxurious, pampered, and crystal clean then this is the book for you!
It is one of the books on how to style a cabin that won’t be for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check it out for yourself.

The title of this book made me chuckle at first. Now that we are deep into designing our own cabin, I do feel like I’m looking at cabin porn all day long at times.
I worried that this book might be discouraging. Sometimes scrolling through Pinterest or looking at other inspirational photos can feel unachievable. Especially when you have a budget as we do!
But, this book was encouraging in that there is no one way to have a cabin or style it. The cabin becomes your own, even if it is not the most luxurious one in the world. It’s best to put your stamp into your cabin and leave the inspiration photos for simply that, inspiration!

This book truly has a variety of cabin styles, from log homes to traditional ones. Some of the photos showcase homes with birch walls while others have a lot of stone and unique architecture.
I appreciated the words alongside this book to guide me in the themes that each of the homes was trying to convey. Seeing the different beds, fireplaces, and living areas really helped me pinpoint what I liked in cabins and what I didn’t mind passing on.
This is one of the books on how to style a cabin that I highly recommend. It is beautiful!

If you want a book that includes the design aspects of building a cabin from the start, this book is for you! It includes several different styles and designs of cabins you may have never even considered!
I also love the different names they give to the featured cabins. They represent both beauty and relaxation. Plus, I love that it features outside spaces along with the inside of your cabin.
The different colors used in the various cabins helped me narrow down my color pallet!
