2021 was full of some of our biggest life milestones, and it’s crazy to look back and see God’s hand at work through it all!
We welcomed our first child, Harmony Sage Albert, into the world in January. Then immediately after we moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and into our tiny house!
Over the summer Landon built on an addition to our tiny house, almost doubling our square footage. And over the fall and winter, he finished up the inside of it! We also found out we were pregnant with baby number two!
We decided to wait on a garden this summer so that we could find the perfect location and plan the layout. However, we still went to the farmer’s market each week and set up a farm stand on the corner of our land to sell our eggs and other products from our rabbits!
Transporting our flock of chickens wasn’t easy but they all arrived in their new home safely. Our rabbits too enjoyed their new set up in our barn. We also raised ducks, turkeys, and a new flock of chickens…and of course, our kittens and dogs were here too!
Overall, it’s impossible to count all the sweat equity we’ve put into our homestead already. The amount of systems we’ve had to install and things Landon has had to build to make spaces functional is hard to count.
Starting with raw land (and thankfully a barn!) and turning it into our dream homestead isn’t easy but it’s completely and absolutely worth it! We still have so much work ahead of us, but we aren’t going anywhere. We love where we live and wouldn’t change it for the world! Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful place we get to call home.

So… What does next year look like for us? What are our goals? Where are we headed?
Those are both easy and hard questions for us to answer. Some of the goals we have are to welcome baby number two into the world, put up our sheep fencing, start a successful garden, learn how to preserve food, raise our first flock of meat chickens, and keep selling eggs and produce at the farmer’s market and our farm stand.
But we don’t know exactly what this year holds. We are holding it loosely and just seeing where the Lord leads and takes us!
Thank you for being on this journey with us and following along! Leave a comment below and let me know your goals for 2022!
