Now that our family has moved to our 80-acre homesteading land and set up our systems, we have a long-term goal of retiring my husband early. If you also want to make significant money from your land, then be sure to check out these homesteading entrepreneur books!
It seems that now more than ever, people want farm-fresh produce and are willing to pay the price for it. More and more of the population is understanding the value of purchasing local produce that is grown organically, raised on pasture, and straight from the farm to the table.
Of course, selling fresh vegetables and eggs on a farm stand or a farmer’s market can only make you so much money. The income ratio is so small for some items that it can feel impossible to provide for yourself or your family through your homestead or backyard farm.
Thankfully, these homesteading entrepreneur books provide wonderful insight into how it can be done.

Joel Salatin is a big name when it comes to farming and homesteading entrepreneurship. And, rightly so! He has earned the title over the years from his own experience of growing a scalable farm that supplies food for not just his family, but the surrounding community!
This is a large book packed with information on how to turn your land into a farm enterprise. This book is all about making money farming – not just tips and tricks on how to do it “correctly” or “better.”
I loved reading this book. I felt like I was talking directly with an expert that was showing me exactly what steps to take, what mistakes to avoid, and how to make our dreams possible! In fact, I’m going to read it again to be sure I didn’t miss anything.

I love the slogan of this book: “Net $25,000 in 6 months on 20 acres.” Who doesn’t want to do that right?
When I first picked up this book, I had no idea that this could be possible. Can people really make that much money raising poultry and selling it? But, from what I’ve heard from others, you can make even more than that today!
For Salatin, it is all about having the right techniques in place. When we work smarter, not harder, as homesteaders and farmers we really succeed!
I’m not going to spoil the book so if you have any interest in raising meat birds over the summer and then selling them, pick up this book today!
And, don’t forget to read all of Joel Salatin’s books, including Your Successful Farm Business: Production, Profit, Pleasure. While they may seem outdated on the outside, there is still so much wisdom inside of them.

While there are now several books available that are quite similar to this, I enjoy it for the wisdom it has on the farming world. It is written directly to the women who want to start homesteading and farming businesses.
Yes, feminism and women empowerment is sprinkled throughout this book; however, I still find it a valuable resource when it comes to launching your own business. It will inspire you and motivate you to get your farming business off the ground and running!
