Last year we finished building our new house on our homestead, and since this is the first year I am doing a spring cleaning on it I wanted an easy and simple spring cleaning checklist I can follow each year!

In the post below I share with you exactly what I clean in the spring (and fall) in each room of the house. I keep it simple and easy, yet it is a deeper clean than my usual weekly cleaning routine, which I will share in a future blog post.

We don’t have a very large house, just about 930 square feet plus an unfinished basement. But, with three toddlers and my husband and myself all under one roof, it can get messy quickly! We also have very long and cold winters where we live in the Keweenaw Peninsula, so we are inside most of the winter.

Each room follows the same basic process, with slight specifications to each room. First, declutter and remove items. Second, wash furniture items like curtains, slipcovers, rugs, etc. Third, start high and wipe everything down. Fourth, vacuum and mop the floors, moving items that you usually don’t move to get under and behind them. Last, place everything back and admire your hard work.

By the time spring comes around I am ready for a good spring cleaning! Here are all my tips and tricks, in one easy and simple spring cleaning checklist to make it easy for you to follow.

Let’s check it out…
