Your baby is safe in your womb thanks to the wonderful design of the amniotic fluid, placenta, and mucus plug all working together! However, there are still ways that you can be proactive to protect your baby bump during pregnancy.
Of course, the biggest ways to keep your baby safe are to cut out all alcohol, drug use, smoking, and cut back on caffeine and sugar intake. I will not be touching on those in detail today.
Instead, I’ll be touching on the thousands of toxins you come into contact with every day without even realizing it.
When I became pregnant with our daughter my lifestyle did not change at all. I was already using the best products for my body full of natural ingredients and free of harmful toxins and chemicals. I began to realize more and more that this wasn’t the case for most women, and at first, it made me extremely irritated but then I became passionate about educating more women on a natural lifestyle.
Most women start changing out their makeup, shampoo, beauty products, cleaners, etc., and start taking supplements after they find out they are pregnant. But why does it take becoming pregnant for us to make these positive changes in our lives?!
Toxins and chemicals that you place on your skin or consume go directly into your bloodstream. You share that bloodstream with the tiny new life inside of you.
One of the best decisions you can make (along with this and this) during your pregnancy is to start changing your lifestyle to natural, chemical-free products! If that sounds daunting to you just stick with me.
As a side note, I am not a doctor or medical specialist. Please seek sound medical advice when necessary. The claims I make here are my own personal opinion and experience.
Let’s dive in…

Young Living Essential Rewards Subscription
The first way I ditched and switched my products, and the easiest way for you to protect your baby bump is to join Young Living!
After I graduated college in 2017 a friend of mine sent me some free essential oil samples. It was so fun using them and learning about the natural benefits they offer my body. I quickly realized that they are a much better solution than the toxic over-the-counter products you can find at the drug store.
Young Living is more than an essential oil company. They also have thousands of household products infused with essential oils and free of chemicals and toxins.
Thieves is the brand name of an essential oil blend that has very strong cleaning power. It also comes in the form of household cleaner, dish soap, toothpaste, hand soap, cough drops, hand sanitizer, fruit and veggie soak, and laundry soap.
I personally ONLY use Young Living products in our home. I’ve seen the power of natural sources and the benefit of eliminating toxins and chemicals from our life!
The best way to protect your baby bump is with safe products. You can easily stock up on Young Living essential oils and household products with their monthly subscription with tons of benefits. It’s called Essential Rewards!
I don’t know about you but Target and Walmart don’t give me cash back for purchasing their products!
First, start by purchasing a Young Living starter kit here. Make sure my number (#12165501) is both the enroller and sponsor field so you can join my team and receive even more free gifts in the mail from me!
Here is a detailed page on all the steps when you sign up!
After you pick out the starter kit you would like, then select to enroll in Essential Rewards, the monthly subscription. Here you will add any other products that you would like to try.
I suggest switching your makeup, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap, and supplements first. Need help? Send me an email at info@goodpointgrandma.com!
Here is another great resource for Young Living products during pregnancy. When you sign up for Young Living as well you get added to our exclusive team Facebook groups where you will find tons of valuable resources on pregnancy and childbirth!
Using essential oils during pregnancy and childbirth made all the difference for me. I wish I could dive into all the details here, but I just can’t.

Bump Box Subscription
The next step you can take to protect your baby bump is to invest in a Bump Box subscription. This isn’t something I invested in during my first pregnancy because I wasn’t aware of it.
Now that I know of all the amazing benefits they have to offer, I am looking forward to hopefully signing up during my next pregnancy. It is a monthly subscription box that arrives at your doorstep with $60 worth of pregnancy-specific products!
The boxes are tailored to your due date and the products are specifically designed to help you protect your baby bump! You’ll also feel pampered at the same time. What a fun way to enjoy your pregnancy and try new products that are safe!
I love that this a great way to get introduced to more natural products, spread throughout your entire pregnancy so you are not overwhelmed all at once.

Exercise And Belly Wrapping
Lastly, protect your baby bump by regularly exercising and wrapping your belly. Honestly, I wish I did more of this during my pregnancy.
Fortunately, I didn’t suffer from nausea during my pregnancy, but I did suffer from what I call chronic tiredness. I felt so tired all the time that it was difficult to stand or move. I know exercising more would have helped me feel better.
Exercising at home can be as simple as using an exercise ball, which I quite enjoyed, using resistance bands, walking, and doing bodyweight routines. However, you could also run, do yoga or stretching, or join an exercise program safe for pregnancy.
Please consult your OBGYN and doctor before joining an exercise program! They will know what is best for your body, your baby, and your current situation.
Belly wrapping is also a great way to protect your baby bump. It offers your bump extra support as it grows larger. It also helps protect your round ligaments. Visiting a chiropractor along with belly wrapping was a great combination for me.
Belly bands like this one are an easy purchase that can also be used to wrap your belly postpartum as it decreases back to its original position and shape.
How do you plan to protect your baby bump during your pregnancy?! I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Such a helpful list of products! Will definitely be looking at sending these to my pregnant friends.
Thanks!!
I’ve told my boyfriend that when we do have kids eventually that I want to start prepping way before we even try, but even now, he reminds me to take supplements daily. We should always try to take care of our bodies – baby or not. 🙂
Exactly!!
The Bump box is a good idea to try new things! I used to use essential oils occasionally but stopped because I’ve heard it can be bad for cats and I don’t want to risk anything.
Hmm I think some may not be ideal for them! I’d have to look into that more but I know my friend who I signed up under with Young Living has a cat and she uses oils all day every day! (:
