Now that I have children of my own, I love taking every opportunity to read to them during specific holidays or events, to learn more about it. Easter is one of my favorite times to read these Christian Easter board books!
Each book offers something unique and exciting to my children’s little brains. Easter has so many unique things to focus on: the branches on Palm Sunday, the angel at the resurrection of Jesus, or how the news of the gospel message spread!
As you check out these Christian Easter board books, you’ll discover as well as how each book brings a unique perspective to the Easter story. I love pulling these books out each year because even I am reminded of interesting details during the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Reading a variety of books helps my children truly grasp the depth of the Easter holiday. I think our culture tends to focus so much on Christmas and the birth of Jesus, yet Easter is often downplayed. But isn’t Easter more important, in a sense? If Jesus didn’t die and resurrect from the dead, there wouldn’t even be a story worth sharing!
I would encourage you to invest in the Easter season just as much, if not more than you invest in the Easter season. It’s something I challenge myself with each year. And these Christian Easter board books will help you do just that!
Let’s check them out…

1. Humphrey’s First Palm Sunday by Carol Heyer
This book follows the book, Humphrey’s First Christmas. Humphrey, the camel, remembers when Jesus was born and now gets to see Him enter the city for Palm Sunday. It is a cute book that also wonderfully illustrates the importance of Palm Sunday and why we celebrate it as Christians!

2. The Legend of the Easter Robin: An Easter Story of Compassion and Faith by Dandi Daley Mackall
Perhaps you have some of the author’s other “Legend of” books, especially the Christmas time ones. They are wonderful books because they show you the true meaning behind holidays, events, and people in history. This is another book that shows your children truly why Easter matters.
Instead of focusing on the Easter bunny, instead, use this book to focus on the Easter robin. A robin instead reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. This is one of the Christian Easter board books I recommend for families to read together each year to keep their perspective in focus!

I’ve seen this book added to several Easter baskets before. You can also get the other books in the series for each season of life – summer, fall, and Christmas. Each book focuses on a biblical character trait. I love that this book not just focuses on the reason behind Easter, but also teaches patience, grace, and generosity.
It is a delightful book to keep your children focused on Easter, and the changing earth in springtime, while pointing them to Jesus!

8. Jesus Rose for Me: The True Story of Easter by Jared Kennedy
I love that this board book covers everything about Easter and goes deeper than just facts. It’s about truly changing your child’s heart so they can know what Jesus did for them, not just when and how He did it. So often children are told that Jesus died for them, but how about we start telling them that Jesus rose for them too? It is part of The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible series.

I love the board book Baby Believer series and we own all of them! This book so easily explains Easter through the various emotions that must have been felt throughout the story, by various people!
