We have had so much snow this winter on the homestead! We are at about 150 inches of snowfall so far in the Keweenaw. And even in the frigid cold temperatures our chickens, rabbits, and dogs are doing well. While there isn’t much to update you on regarding the homestead, here are a few fun things to mention…

Getting Out of The House
We left the house a few times to visit the UP Children’s Museum, go swimming, hang out at the library, see friends, and a few other events. It was fun to have some family visit us too. Otherwise, we have been hunkered down quite a bit!
At Home
I have been filling my days with lots of baking and trying new recipes. I even made bagels for the first time! Landon has been working on various projects and also reading and writing quite a bit (when he’s not plowing snow or tending to the fire). And the kids love playing make-believe in the basement to get all their energy out or reading library books for the winter reading challenge!
We are soaking in these slow days before it warms up and lots more work needs to get done. While I long for summer right now, I so appreciate the quiet and peaceful home life we get to have in our new house this winter! See you next month!
