We moved into our tiny house right after our daughter was born (yes, you can live in a tiny house with a baby!) and we needed the best tiny house crib to maximize space.
We have used several of these five best tiny house crib options, but ultimately, you need to do what is best for your family! These are simple options that I hope will make living in a tiny house with a newborn simple and easy!
Part of living in a tiny house means that the house grows with your family. You are constantly changing and adapting to your growing family, which means the house has to change to still function well.
For us, as soon as our daughter reaches a new milestone, I find us making home changes. She’ll be crawling here before we know it and that will mean more protective measures, especially upstairs in our loft.
Thankfully there are products on the market right now that make living in a small space really easy. 20, 50, and 100 years ago these options weren’t available. So as much as we do have to be creative when we live in a tiny house, there are also these best tiny house crib options that make it more feasible!

If you live in a tiny house or even a small space like an apartment or basement, then there is a good chance that a full-size crib simply won’t fit.
Or, perhaps you’d prefer a mini crib so that your valuable space can be used elsewhere, such as more storage areas.
It is so great that mini cribs have entered the market. They give parents the tools to still sleep train their children with the assurance of a safe sleep environment.
There are several options for mini cribs, from convertible to portable. And, while we haven’t tried a mini crib ourselves, I think the reviews speak for themselves. This one, in particular, is the one I would purchase!

The first time I came across a hanging bassinet was actually on Facebook Marketplace. Someone in our area was selling one!
The pictures of it were simply adorable and I realized you could save so much space by investing in a hanging bassinet instead of something that sits on the ground. It makes it easy to take advantage of the vertical space you have available to you.
With a hanging bassinet valuable floor space stays freed up for playmats, walking space, or more storage. We certainly considered this option in our tiny house but decided to go a different route instead.
Of course, there is always the option for a standard bedside bassinet as well!

Our daughter currently sleeps in a pack-n-play in the corner of our bedroom loft. When she was about three months old, we made the transition from co-sleeping to her own bed.
She was getting very strong and able to move and roll over, so for our own ease of mind when it came to safety, making the transition was the best thing for our family.
We actually hung black-out curtains around the pack-n-play to block off her own little bedroom area and keep it nice and dark for all of her naps throughout the day.
A pack-n-play is smaller than a crib, easy to move, and easy to access. We find it to be the perfect solution for our tiny home currently and one of the best tiny house crib options.

Have you ever consider making your own crib for your tiny house or small space? Maybe you have a unique corner or a weird angle that you want to fit your baby’s sleeping area into.
If you are handy with wood or a carpenter, you could make your own crib, unique to your space. However, you must be sure that it is safe in every possible way. That means checking that the crib is secure and that there are no large gaps for your child to get stuck.
This option is certainly not for most people and must be done with extra care and precision. Safety is always the first priority.

We began with co-sleeping when we first moved into our tiny house. This can be a very controversial subject, but for our family, it worked out quite well.
I only recommend co-sleeping if you have a king-size bed pushed up against the wall on two sides and if you use a Dock-A-Tot or a SnuggleMe. We had a SnuggleMe for our daughter Harmony that we placed her in after we swaddled her.
Please note that these products are not marketed for co-sleeping and are not recommended to be used in bed with a baby. This is my own opinion and what worked for our family, so please do whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Co-sleeping made night feedings very easy. We kept my daughter between the wall and myself, while my husband was on the other side. I was in the middle of the bed. I would simply take her out and put her next to me to feed her and then place her back in the SnuggleMe when she was finished.
This is one of the best tiny house crib options because it saves so much space. If you are considering sharing a family bed and co-sleeping, consider the safety implications and what steps you will take to remain safe.
