After writing my first blog post on Biblical Christian parenting books I knew there were more books I had to share with my audience! These additional books on Christian parenting cover a wide range of parenting topics and concerns.

One thing I love about reading a wide range of books on Christian parenting is that each one offers a new perspective or tidbit. While we do need to first start with reading the Bible and spending time alone with the Lord, I am always desiring to improve in my parenting. Hearing from Christian authors today helps bring Biblical truths to light in today’s culture.

Additionally, these Christian parenting books are filled with wonderful reminders of what I can be doing as a parent practically throughout my day. One reminder I have been clinging to often lately is to set an example for my children.

Our children notice everything we do and say. They will replicate us in our good moments, but also in our bad moments. By focusing on improving ourselves we can also improve our parenting!

  1. Age Of Opportunity: A Biblical Guide To Parenting Teens by Paul Tripp

In my previous post, I recommended another parenting book by this same author. While that book covered the topic of parenting in general, this one is specifically geared toward parenting teens.

While I currently only have little ones at home, I know several parents that have benefited from parenting books in this age range. I certainly can only imagine how nerve-racking it is to slowly give your child more freedom as they prepare to leave the house.

I love that this parenting book is all about looking at this season of life as an opportunity and not of fear or just survival! That’s something we constantly have to remember on this parenting journey – that it is a calling and a gift to be a parent, and we are blessed to be given the responsibility of the role!

  1. Loving the Little Years by Rachel Jankovic

Now, this book is definitely more applicable to my current state of several small children at my feet! If there is a season of motherhood that is extremely demanding it certainly is this one.

Babies and toddlers are still so dependent on you for so many things, basically everything! And especially if you have more than one it quickly becomes overwhelming, exhausting, and simply survival mode. I’ve been there and I’m still there!

But, it doesn’t have to be a season of life that is just surviving. The author gives practical advice on how to enjoy your current situation, give it all to the Lord, and soak it all in. And always remember that all the hard work in the little years will show fruit in the distant future.

  1. Raising Godly Tomatoes: Loving Parenting With Only Occasional Trips to the Woodshed by L. Elizabeth Krueger

The concept of this book is to keep your children, your little “tomatoes,” staked to you as you train them in Godly wisdom. As one of the books on Christian parenting that truly focuses on the heart of your child, you will be convicted to take your parenting role seriously!

But also, this book provides practical advice on what that looks like in their outward actions. From your child’s heart, their actions flow. Disciplining our children needs to be done out of love with attention to nurturing their hearts.

As parents, we first have to align our priorities, understand our authority, and reject modern-day parenting philosophies. With consistent Biblical parenting, we can raise godly children for Christ!

  1. M is for Mama by Abbie Halberstadt

This is a newer book with a call for excellence for mothers! It is so easy to solve our children’s behavior temporarily by just giving them what they want instead of putting in the hard work. Motherhood is a high calling but God made you for this challenge and He will equip you!

Are you dwelling in mediocre motherhood? Do you feel like you’re a bad mother today because of x, y, or z? If so, then this book is for you! We aren’t to focus on our self-pity, but on the joy in motherhood through Christ! This book will encourage you to step into motherhood with purpose, ambition, and a game plan.

  1. Mama Bear Apologetics by Hillary Morgan Ferrer

Apologetics is how we defend our Christian doctrine and give answers to things within our Christian faith. As parents, we need to be the first people to teach our children these Christian truths and the reasons behind why believe them.

This book helps you as a mother recognize all the lies of the culture that attack our children regularly. Then it gives you as a mother the tools you need to teach these lies to your children so they can recognize them. After that, mothers can provide Biblical truths to their children.

This is one of the books on Christian parenting that focuses on equipping mothers to answer some of their children’s toughest questions!

  1. The Ministry of Motherhood: Following Christ’s Example in Reaching the Hearts of Our Children by Sally Clarkson

This is another one of the books on Christian parenting specifically geared toward mothers. As mothers, we are faced with so many daily tasks that never end, from the dishes to the laundry.

However, it is also in those seemingly small everyday moments that we are also training our children. It’s in the little things that the biggest differences are made. Our parenting is most valuable when we are consistent in love and truth!

I love that the author uses examples from how Jesus trained His own disciples. It’s not about fixing our children in our own doing, it’s about setting the example and ultimately leaving their hearts in God’s hands!

  1. The Power Of A Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian

Prayer is something that is so easily forgotten and so quickly overlooked. We think prayer isn’t effective way too often, and I know I’m guilty of often just trying to fix a problem myself before really giving it to the Lord in prayer first.

This book offers wonderful examples of what to pray for in raising children. Everything from being humble to finding the perfect spouse, God wants to hear about it all from us!

This book is an incredible guide to helping you pray for your children. Make it a part of your daily devotional time so that you never forget about the power of prayer!
