October was a very full month. We had lots of family visiting and then lots of work on closing up our new house before winter! It was mixed with so many fun moments and some extremely challenging ones. We did end the month with our first snowfall of the season, so here comes winter!
Don’t forget to Pin this image for later!
Deer Season Begins
Bow season started and a new friend of ours was hunting our land and helping Landon build the house. He has been a great blessing to us! Landon also purchased a bow to try his hand at hunting a bit earlier this year. Rifle season is just around the corner now.
One morning when I was driving down to the corner to put our eggs on our farm stand, I turned out of our driveway and right in front of me was a dead doe! Someone must have hit it just briefly before I saw it. Landon and his friend butchered it and now we have meat in the freezer. It was a huge blessing from the Lord!
House Build Progress
The progress on the house build has felt tremendous this month! Landon put on the floor joists, SIPS walls, roof trusses, and roof sheeting! It really looks like a beautiful house. Now to just wrap it in Tyvek and slowly put in the windows and doors to close it off.
It has been a ton of work and no easy feat! We are so thankful for all the family and friends who have helped us on the project.
Next month we will be taking down the farm stand, getting the homestead ready for the deep winter, and working on various house projects. See you then!
