December has been extremely snow-filled! Most of our days have just been spent at home, seeing the snow falling through the window. But, thankfully we get to celebrate Christmas this month, making it really special!
Here are some quick homestead updates…

Setting Up The Christmas Tree
After Thanksgiving, we got hammered with snow, so we didn’t set up our tree right away. It was fun to go the next week and pick out the tree. Landon took the kids in the tractor and found the perfect one deep in our woods. It is so beautiful in our new house we love celebrating our first Christmas at home all together!
Cleaning Up The Basement
For Christmas this year, we wanted to get our basement cleaned up and make it a fun play area for the kids! Since finishing the house build, it has been a complete mess. Landon worked hard to get that done and it looks great down there. The kids have bikes, toys, books, couches, swings, slides, etc. Plus, it’s super cozy sitting down there and watching the fire blaze on these cold December days.
Animals
We did have one chicken die in the cold, which was to be expected. And we do have some baby rabbits that are surviving through the winter, which is exciting! The dogs and our barn cat are all doing well too!
Check back next month, or should I say in the new year, for more updates!
